Job summary

CHAOS Industries seeks a Principal Software Engineer to join our team supporting R&D and product engineering for next-generation radar products. You will work on multiple capabilities across our product offerings and expand your skills within our families.

The role focuses on research, development, and production software, with system integration on COTS hardware and deployments for U.S. and international customers. On-site in Los Angeles, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of professional, object-oriented software development experience.
• Experience with Agile lifecycle processes including Scrum, Continuous Integration, and Test-Driven Development methodologies.
• Solid understanding and extensive experience in software development using Linux.
• Extensive/advanced Python experience.
• Experience with HW/SW I&T and V&V of high-TRL systems.
• Experience with production-level SW development & deployment, including DevOps, DevSecOps, and CI/CD using modern FOSS/COTS toolsets.
• Experience with software development tools enforcing best practices (linting, code coverage, code quality/security scanning, doc gen).
• Experience with Networks (software and hardware).
• Experience with CUDA/JAX
• Experience with Software-Defined Radios (SDRs) (e.g. Ettus).
• Experience developing near-real-time systems.
• Experience with additional languages such as C++, Rust, NodeJS, Java, Go, etc
• Experience with Containers (Docker, Podman, etc.)
• Experience with git

Responsibilities

• Research & Development (R&D) and Production software development for radar products.
• Support system integration of software on hardware (COTS).
• Support deployed software capabilities for international customers.
• Work on-site in the Los Angeles (Hawthorne), California office.
