A health governance organization based in Perth, WA, seeks a Principal Policy and Project Officer to oversee the Health Executive Service. This is a senior role requiring initiative, critical thinking, and superior communication skills. The officer will develop and implement policies and programs, manage relationships within the Health sector, and supervise staff, fostering leadership development for career growth. Principal Policy and Project Officer – salary PSO Level 7 $139,860 – $149,485 per annum pro rata.

The Board Assurance and Health Executive Service team provides ongoing governance and management of the Health Executive Service on behalf of the system manager in accordance with policy and the Health Services Act 2016. The team is responsible for supporting the Minister for Health in relation to recruitment and appointment of members to health service provider and a number of other statutory boards, as well as policy and assurance functions for health service provider boards. The team delivers these functions in a fast paced and collaborative team environment.
The Principal Policy and Project Officer is a senior member of the team and is responsible for the ongoing management of the Health Executive Service on behalf of the system manager through developing and implementing policies, projects, programs and plans. On a daily basis you will exercise a range of skills – initiative, critical thinking, problem solving and superior communication and operate with a reasonable level of autonomy. You will be required to develop and maintain effective strategic networks and relationships with health service providers and within the Department of Health. The role will provide opportunities for growth and development of your leadership skills, including supervision of staff, and assisting the Manager with more complex matters.
