The Department of Health is seeking a Principal Policy Adviser to lead strategic projects across Victorian health policy, evaluation and performance. You will research complex issues, develop evidence-based solutions and advise senior management.
You will work with multidisciplinary teams, external partners and branches to scope problems, deploy flexible strategies and deliver high-impact policy recommendations that improve health outcomes for Victorians.
The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of all Victorians. We’re focused on
supporting Victorians to be as healthy as they can; whether through alerting them to seasonal risks like thunderstorm asthma, notifying them of contact with
communicable diseases, safeguarding their drinking water, developing the best health, wellbeing and care facilities in the world, being at the forefront of mental health and
wellbeing treatment or accelerating medical research. It’s all part of the way we partner with the community to help every individual lead a healthy life.
The role seeks high performing individuals with strong analytical, policy development and implementation, project management and communication skills. The role would be suited to individuals who are comfortable working with unfamiliar and complex issues, in multidisciplinary teams and with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
The Principal Policy Adviser leads and advises on strategic projects. This includes working both within project teams and through flexible deployments within branches across the Department of Health to scope, define and research problems and develop evidence-informed and innovative solutions.
