Job summary

BHP Group in Australia is seeking a highly experienced scheduler specialist to lead planning, scheduling and governance for major capital projects. You will develop integrated project schedules, forecast outcomes and provide schedule-driven insights to project leadership.

The role requires advanced Primavera P6 skills, strong governance and stakeholder management, and the ability to drive risk mitigation and continuous improvement across EPCM and contractor teams.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in project planning and scheduling within mining, resources, infrastructure, energy or major capital project environments.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multi-million-dollar capital projects and working with engineering, EPCM and contractor organisations.
  • Advanced Primavera P6 capability, including development and management of integrated project schedules.
  • Strong experience in schedule forecasting, critical path analysis and project controls.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, presenting insights and influencing stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Strong governance, assurance and stakeholder management capability.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and reporting skills.
  • Experience with risk and schedule analysis tools such as @Risk, PRA or Safran would be advantageous.
  • Professional certifications such as CEP, CCP, PMI, P.Eng., CPA or CA is desired.

  • Monitors and manages project performance to deliver projects in line with safety standards, requirements, budget and scope.
  • Leads schedule integration, analysis and forecasting to improve schedule certainty and support project delivery outcomes.
  • Identifies critical path risks and opportunities and supports mitigation and recovery planning strategies.
  • Develops safe project delivery and contractor performance strategies to maximise project value and improve outcomes.
  • Designs and implements governance, assurance and Management of Change processes to support project controls effectiveness.
  • Sources information and conducts analysis to support evidence-based decision making and project leadership.
  • Builds and manages relationships across owner, EPCM and contractor organisations to optimise project outcomes.
  • Develops technical schedule reports and communicates insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Knows our customer and is obsessed with meeting their needs.
  • Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.
  • Engages the capabilities of the entire organisation.

About the Role

Provides specialist planning and scheduling expertise to support the successful delivery of major capital projects. Leads the development, integration, analysis, forecasting and governance of project schedules, ensuring alignment with project objectives, scope, risk, cost and delivery requirements.
