Job summary

Alcoa of Australia Ltd seeks a senior leader to shape mine closure and infrastructure decommissioning across Mining, Refining, Smelting and Port operations in Australia. You will drive strategies to unlock rehabilitation opportunities, reduce liabilities and deliver environmental outcomes, working with cross-disciplinary teams and regional leadership.

You will oversee planning, budgeting and execution readiness, while engaging stakeholders and regulators to ensure compliant, efficient project

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Environmental Science, Mining, Project Management or Closure Planning.
  • Extensive experience in mine closure, infrastructure decommissioning, demolition planning, rehabilitation, mining operations, project delivery or environmental approvals.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop closure strategies in complex environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead integrated closure and decommissioning strategies aligned with plans and obligations.
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of decontamination, decommissioning, and demolition projects.
  • Prepare decommissioning plans ensuring safe, compliant execution and rehab outcomes.
  • Manage closure-related financial provisions and forecast liabilities.
  • Provide governance, reporting and strategic recommendations for closure investments.
