Job summary

Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service is seeking a senior finance professional to provide high-level financial expertise to CQ Health leadership and clinicians. You will drive budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and performance reporting.

Turn financial and clinical data into insights using Activity Based Funding, costing and benchmarking to support decision-making. Lead governance and compliance with financial standards and risk management.

Qualifications

  • Sound knowledge of accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial management, with the ability to solve complex financial challenges.
  • Relevant qualifications are well regarded.
  • Influential communicator with strong interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills.

About the role


  • Provide high-level financial expertise to CQ Health leadership, executives, clinicians and key internal and external stakeholders.

  • Drive financial performance and improvement through budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cost management and performance reporting.

  • Turn financial and clinical data into insights, using Activity Based Funding, costing, benchmarking and activity analysis to support better decision-making.

  • Influence strategic decisions around resource allocation, service agreements, contracts, revenue, efficiency and long-term financial planning.

  • Strengthen governance and compliance by providing advice on financial standards, risk management, resource utilisation and organisational performance.



About you


  • Sound knowledge of accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial management, with the ability to solve complex financial challenges; relevant qualifications are well regarded.

  • Confident managing competing priorities, a high workload and tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.

  • Influential communicator – Strong interpersonal, consultation, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and build effective partnerships.

  • Experienced in using financial databases, reporting tools and financial systems to analyse information and provide meaningful insights to Executive.



What we offer

Total remuneration value of up to $176,711 p.a. is comprised of:



  • An hourly rate between $72.78 - $78.11 p.h.

  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution

  • 17.5% leave loading
