We are a regional emergency department (ED) with an annual attendance of 50,000 presentations and 25% are paediatric. It is the referral hospital for Central Queensland and sees a wide range of complex multi-speciality cases.
This Department is led by emergency Physicians and rural Generalists. We have 16-hour senior floor coverage with an on-call senior with a low-threshold to come in after hours. There are 21 FTE Registrars/Principal House Officers, 8 Resident Medical Officers and 6 Interns covering the 24/7 roster.
We are looking for a positive, enthusiastic, team-oriented Emergency Medicine Registrar or Principal House Officer to join our department. The role has the responsibility for assessing and managing patients presenting to the emergency department including assisting more junior medical staff in managing their patients. The position will provide appropriate exposure and experience to enable the doctor to attain the required skills and knowledge for that term in emergency medicine.
