Job summary

Bastion Defence is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the continued development of our technical capability and to serve as the Principal Engineering Authority across our national operations.

You will shape engineering strategy, governance and assurance, mentor domain managers and elevate technical maturity. This is a senior role demanding strategic and technical influence across multidisciplinary teams in Defence and related sectors.

Qualifications

• Tertiary engineering qualifications and professional credentials are required.
• Demonstrated senior engineering leadership experience in regulated environments.
• Strong governance, assurance and systems engineering knowledge.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary technical capability and mentoring engineers.
• Eligible for Australian government security clearance or higher is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategic direction for Bastion Defence's technical capability.
• Act as Principal Engineering Authority and provide independent technical leadership.
• Lead governance, standards and assurance practices across the organisation.
• Mentor Capability Domain Managers and develop people, knowledge and maturity.
• Identify capability gaps and shape future capability priorities.
• Support executive planning and enterprise risk management.
