Job summary

Mott MacDonald’s Water team in South Australia is seeking a Design Manager to support planning, design and delivery of water infrastructure. You will lead digital design for water and wastewater networks, applying past construction and commissioning experience, and coordinating with offshore delivery teams.

You will guide junior designers, ensure standards compliance, and maintain client relationships while contributing to bids and project execution across SA.”

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
• Experience delivering water and wastewater projects.
• Knowledge of WSAA standards and drawings is preferred.
• Ability to lead a team of digital designers and manage interfaces with clients.

Mott MacDonald's Water team has an exciting opportunity for a Design Manager in South Australia. You will support the planning, design, and delivery of water, wastewater, network, and treatment infrastructure for SA Water, helping address key challenges including climate resilience, population growth, and ageing infrastructure.

This role will interface with local delivery teams providing digital engineering on project and technical support to other staff, as well as liaise with the Global Delivery Service team for offshore delivery of digital engineering on projects.

About You

• Diploma of Engineering/Associate Degree in Civil Engineering (minimum).
• Experienced user in Civil 3D, Revit, 12D Model and/or is essential.
• Demonstrated experience as a digital designer delivering water and wastewater projects across networks and treatment.
• Extensive knowledge of local and national standards, including Water Services Association of Australia (WSAA) standards and drawings (incl. SEQ amendments).
• Experience in or aspiration to take on a management and/or leadership role to lead a team of digital designers.
• Proficiency in general Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
• Experienced user in setting up and managing CDEs such as ProjectWise, BIM360, ACC and/or Synergy 12D.
• Be a highly motivated individual with excellent communication and written skills.
