Job summary

Esri Australia is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to shape and deliver our enterprise data capability. You will lead technical direction, while remaining hands-on in designing modern data solutions that enable better decision-making across the organisation.

You’ll partner with business leaders to translate priorities into scalable data services, drive governance, and ensure secure, reliable platform operations with cost awareness.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise data platforms.
• Strong SQL and Python skills for data engineering and automation.
• Experience with data governance, security and metadata practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the evolution of enterprise data architecture, platform strategy and roadmap.
• Design, build and maintain scalable data platforms, pipelines and semantic models.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define priorities and practical data solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to improve performance and cost efficiency.
• Ensure data quality, governance and security are embedded across the platform.
