Job summary

Pearson Carter Limited seeks a Principal AI Solutions Architect to own the technical direction of enterprise AI projects. You will lead experienced engineers, shape architecture decisions, and guide AI and agentic applications from initial design through production delivery.

You will set engineering standards, mentor teams, evaluate models and frameworks, assess cloud services, and communicate trade-offs to customers. Hybrid Sydney-based role with ownership of architecture and delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading teams delivering enterprise AI applications in production.
• Strong understanding of AI architecture, agent workflows, tool use and evaluation.
• Solid software and cloud architecture foundations, review of Python implementations and CI/CD.
• Depth in at least one cloud environment; experience with multiple AI platforms.
• Confident technical leadership and customer communication with informed trade-offs.

Principal AI Solutions Architect 220,000-260,000 Super Sydney Hybrid

Company

Take ownership of the technical direction behind enterprise AI solutions with a technology business delivering customer projects. You’ll lead experienced engineers, shape architecture decisions and guide AI and agentic applications from initial design through production delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead solution architecture and technical delivery across multiple AI projects, turning complex customer requirements into reliable production applications.
• Guide AI solution leads, software engineers, and test and automation engineers, building capability through mentoring and technical reviews.
• Evaluate models, agent frameworks, cloud services and privately hosted alternatives to select the right approach for each customer.
• Set engineering standards, evaluation methods and release criteria to support dependable delivery and ongoing operation.
• Lead customer workshops, explain technical trade-offs and manage technical risks, dependencies and estimates.

Experience

Essential:

• Proven experience leading teams that have delivered and supported enterprise AI applications in production.
• Strong understanding of AI application architecture, agent workflows, retrieval, tool use, model behaviour and evaluation.
• Solid software and cloud architecture foundations, including the ability to review Python implementations, APIs, integrations and CI/CD pipelines.
• Depth in at least one cloud environment, alongside experience evaluating multiple AI platforms and practical familiarity with open-source frameworks or privately hosted models.
• Confident technical leadership and customer communication, with the judgment to choose where agentic AI adds value and where simpler approaches work best.

Advantageous:

• Experience guiding technical delivery across several projects or programmes.
• A track record of establishing engineering standards and developing technical leaders.

Salary

A220,000-260,000 base superannuation, depending on experience.
