A Catholic educational institution is seeking qualified educators for full-time teaching positions for the 2026 school year. Successful candidates will play a vital role in implementing the Primary school curriculum, contributing to school planning and objectives, and ensuring a supportive environment. Competitive salaries range from $86,600 to $147,048 plus additional benefits such as professional development and parental leave.

Contract Dates : Monday 19th January 2026 to Friday 15th January 2027
Employment Type : 2 x Full‑Time, Fixed‑Term Positions available (Parental Leave replacements)
Salary Range : Commensurate with experience – Graduate $86,600 to Lead Teacher $147,048 FTE Gross per annum + 12.75% super

MacKillop Catholic College, a master‑planned Prep to Year 12 College located in the growing southern corridor of Cairns, was established in 2016 with Prep–Year 3 classes. The College has progressively developed by year levels and celebrates the first Year 12 cohort graduating in 2025.
Guided by the authentic discipleship of Saint Mary MacKillop of the Cross, and the Josephite tradition, our mission, to inspire hearts, minds and spirits, is grounded in the vision to provide quality 21st‑century education to the young people in our community.
The Teacher will have a vital role in the next phase of strategic growth of the College. The role involves the day‑to‑day teaching of the Primary school curriculum.
This role is to support the mission through the enactment of the learning and teaching program. This involves planning, preparing and delivering effective learning and teaching programmes; contributing to the development and implementation of the College objectives and planning; ensuring appropriate pedagogies are implemented in the classroom; contributing to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive school environment through thorough analysis of current data to inform decisions; and prudently administering available resources.
The Teacher is expected to demonstrate excellence in the knowledge, understanding and research of their learning area and will actively contribute to the holistic education offered at MacKillop Catholic College.
Teachers are accountable to and under the direction of the school Principal or delegate.
