Job Description

As a Primary Engineer working with the Transmissions team, your impact will be in providing engineering design and technical support in the development of transmission and substation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertaking primary design for substations and terminal stations to a high technical standard
  • Develop scopes and specifications for design and construction
  • Manage outcomes within budget and project programme constraints whilst maintaining high levels of technical performance
  • Review work as part of the peer review process from time to time as may be required
  • Effectively manage the detail design from concept through to final design implementation to agreed scope, quality, time frames and budgets
  • Identify and manage scope variations according to client and/or project requirements
  • Review and assess brownfield and greenfield sites
Qualifications

To be successful in this opportunity, you will ideally have a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience with demonstrated experience on electrical utilities projects. In addition, you will also have:

  • An Electrical Engineering Degree (or equivalent)
  • NER high desired, motivated and willing to work toward CPEng status
  • Relevant work rights to live and work full‑time in Australia
  • Detailed technical knowledge and experience in electricity networks engineering
  • Demonstrated experience with primary design in electricity substations engineering, project delivery and/or design roles
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microstation
  • Well‑developed interpersonal and communication skills to manage stakeholders at all levels
