Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking a Machinist for a permanent role in Croydon. You will read engineering drawings, set up and operate manual lathes, milling, drilling, boring and grinding machines, and work to tight tolerances using precision measuring tools.

The position offers a 36.5-hour work week (Mon-Fri) with an annual salary range of £34,980 to £41,040, dependent on experience, in a global intelligent drive technology environment.

Qualifications

• Time served apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Experience using and setting up manual machining equipment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings in metric and imperial.

Responsibilities

• Read engineering drawings to guide machining of components.
• Set up and operate manual machines (lathes, milling, drilling, boring, grinding).
• Work to precise tolerances using calipers and micrometres.
• Propose tooling and basic modifications to overcome workshop challenges.
