Job summary

St Vincent's Private Hospital Sydney is seeking a Registered Nurse for a permanent part‑time role in the Anaesthetics and Recovery Theatres at Darlinghurst. You will coordinate pre‑operative care, admit patients and support theatre operations with a focus on patient safety and excellent care.

The role requires valid AHPRA registration, a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and prior anaesthetic or recovery experience. You’ll work in a dynamic multidisciplinary team and be on call when required.

Qualifications

• Valid AHPRA registration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Experience in Anaesthetic and/or Recovery.
• Commitment to patient‑centred care.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to undertake call duties.
• Knowledge of Department of Health Guidelines, WHS and Infection Control.

Responsibilities

• Admit patients on the day of their procedure.
• Complete pre-operative assessments and health checks.
• Confirm medical history, medications, allergies and fasting status.
• Ensure consent forms and documentation are complete.
• Take observations (BP, pulse, temperature, etc.).
• Prepare patients for surgery and pre-operative medications.
• Provide information and reassurance to patients and families.
• Liaise with surgeons, anaesthetists, theatre staff and ward nurses.
• Coordinate patient flow to ensure theatre lists run efficiently.
