Job summary

The Department of Education Victoria seeks an organised, collaborative people leader to manage the Legal Division's Practice Support Unit (PSU). You will lead a team delivering legal intake, administration, recruitment and payroll support in a busy practice.

Reporting to the Head of Legal Operations, you will drive continuous improvement, develop staff and coordinate workloads while supporting divisional reporting obligations and induction.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing teams in a legal setting.
• Strong organisational skills and sound judgement managing workloads.
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills for positive relationships.
• Experience setting clear expectations and coaching staff.
• Practical approach to continuous improvement and change.

Responsibilities

• Oversee intake services and workload coordination for the PSU.
• Coordinate administrative support, recruitment, and payroll support.
• Lead divisional induction and workforce administration activities.
• Drive continuous improvement of PSU processes and practices.
• Collaborate with the Systems and Capability Unit on divisional projects.
