Job summary

Great Energy is seeking a Power Station Operator (Electrical) for a full-time FIFO 2/2 role in Australia. You will operate generation plant, monitor performance, and perform routine maintenance to ensure reliable power supply across critical assets.

Essential licences include QLD Electrical Fitter / Electrical Mechanic and Unrestricted C Class Licence; experience with SAP is desirable. A strong safety mindset and ability to work in remote locations are required.

Responsibilities

• Operate power generation plant to maintain reliable electrical supply.
• Optimize thermal efficiency while minimising supply risk.
• Complete daily readings, reporting and data analysis.

• Fault finding and troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Comply with KPI targets, safety systems, permits and procedures.
• Identify and implement safety and reliability improvements.

FIFO 2/2 | 12-Month Fixed Term (Extension Possible)Great Energy – Australia & Asia-Pacific

Great Energy is seeking expressions of interest from an experienced Power Station Operator (Electrical) to join our growing operations team. This is a full-time FIFO role on a 2/2 roster, supporting critical power infrastructure across the resources and utilities sectors.

The Role

Reporting to the Power Station Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of power station assets, ensuring uninterrupted supply to critical plant and services.

Key duties include:

• Operating power generation plant to maintain reliable electrical supply
• Optimising thermal efficiency while minimising supply risk
• Completing daily operational readings, reporting, and data analysis
• Routine maintenance and minor repairs on power station plant
• Fault finding and troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation systems
• Compliance with KPI targets, safety systems, permits, and procedures
• Identifying and implementing safety and reliability improvements

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years’ experience in power station operations & maintenance highly desirable but not essential
• Strong electrical system fault-finding skills
• Experience with power generation systems and equipment
• Ability to work FIFO in remote locations
• Experience with SAP maintenance systems highly desirable
• Strong safety focus, including PTW systems, JSAs, Take 5s
• Gas and steam turbine experience highly desirable

Qualifications

Essential:
