Job summary

Verse is seeking a Power BI Developer for an initial 3‑month contract in Perth, WA. You will lead enterprise Power BI development, build semantic models over Dataverse, and deliver decision-ready dashboards for portfolio health, financial performance, governance and delivery metrics.

You will work with IT leadership and PMO stakeholders to design scalable reporting solutions, improve performance, and document solutions for long‑term support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Power BI development experience.
• Strong Dataverse or Dynamics 365 reporting experience.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to translate business reporting requirements into effective dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Assess current portfolio reporting and identify improvement opportunities.
• Design and develop reusable Power BI semantic models over Dataverse.
• Build dashboards covering financial reporting and variance, stage gate, risks and resources.
• Optimize Power BI performance and data models.
• Configure workspaces, apps and refresh schedules; implement RLS.
• Produce technical documentation and deliver knowledge transfer sessions.

Job description

A Power BI Developer contract position is available within a large enterprise organisation in Perth, Western Australia, undertaking a significant uplift of its IT Portfolio Management Office reporting and governance capability.

This role offers broad exposure across enterprise Power BI development, Microsoft Dataverse, portfolio reporting, governance frameworks and the Microsoft Power Platform, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys designing scalable reporting solutions while working closely with both technical and business stakeholders.

The successful candidate will enhance and expand the organisation's existing Power BI reporting environment, delivering decision‑ready dashboards that provide visibility across project, program and portfolio health, financial performance, governance and delivery metrics.

Working alongside the Portfolio Management Office, IT leadership and governance stakeholders, you'll design reusable semantic models, improve reporting performance, implement best‑practice security and governance, and ensure all solutions are thoroughly documented for long‑term support.

This is an initial 3‑month contract with the potential to extend for a further 3 months.
