Job summary

SAS is seeking a Technical Support Engineer in Sydney, Australia, to provide technical support for enterprise-class SAS software platforms, leveraging Postgres Data Server / Crunchy Data components. You will resolve issues, document cases, and coordinate with SAS experts worldwide.

The role requires strong PostgreSQL administration experience, familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience in technical architecture, system administration, software consulting, or supporting complex software environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related quantitative field.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL Database Administration.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices-based applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for customers using enterprise-class multi-tier software applications and/or solutions including cloud-based environments.
• Proactively communicate clearly with customers and experts across SAS during problem resolution; document information in the case management system.
• Manage expectations and project pressures, coordinating problem escalation and communications outside business hours as needed.
• Build knowledge of SAS and related technologies; interpret documentation and suggest features, procedures, products, or solutions to troubleshoot issues.
