Job description

Join to apply for the Postdoctoral / Research Fellow role at The Australian National University.

Classification: Academic Level A or Level B

Salary Package: $87,135 – $134,507 per annum plus 17% superannuation

Terms: 2 full‑time positions, fixed term (up to 1 year or up to 3 years)

Position overview

The Mathematical Sciences Institute is seeking two Postdoctoral Fellows (Level A) or Research Fellows (Level B). The level of appointment will be determined by the applicant’s level of experience and expertise. These positions are funded by two Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery projects awarded to Neil Trudinger and Po‑Lam Yung. The primary aim is to carry out the research programme proposed for these projects in collaboration with the investigators and a range of Australian and international collaborators.

The projects involve the study of fully nonlinear partial differential equations and their geometric and physical applications, using approaches including those from harmonic analysis. Further details can be obtained upon request from Neil.Trudinger@anu.edu.au or PoLam.Yung@anu.edu.au.

This role is based in Canberra, with remote work within Australia considered.

Applicants are expected to have an outstanding record in research relative to opportunity, in a field directly relevant to the two projects.

International travel funding is available for conferences, workshops and collaborative research.
