Job summary

UNSW invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Exercise Physiology based at the Kensington campus. Hybrid working requires a minimum of 3 days in the office each week, with occasional interstate travel for site visits.

The role focuses on delivering clinical trials, building an independent research program, and publishing high-quality outputs while pursuing external funding and HDR supervision opportunities.

Post-Doctoral Fellow (Exercise Physiology)

• Employment Type: Full - time (35 hours a week)
• Duration: 1 - Year Fixed Term (possible extension funding dependant)
• Remuneration: $133k - $142k base (+17% super and a leave loading)
• Work rights: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia to be considered for this position.
• Location: UNSW Campus, Kensington (Hybrid working, min 3 days in the office)
• Travel: Role will require occasional site visits, some will be interstate

This Opportunity

The role will contribute to the delivery of clinical trials and related research studies while developing an independent research program. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the Fellow will conduct high-quality research, lead scholarly outputs, and pursue competitive funding opportunities to build research independence.

Key Skills And Experience Required

• A PhD in in physiology, exercise physiology, cardiovascular science, biomedical science or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated expertise in integrative or cardiovascular physiology techniques (for example, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, or haemodynamic, vascular, autonomic or cardiac imaging assessments) in human participants.
• Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
• Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.
• A demonstrated interest in women's cardiovascular health and a commitment to advancing sex and gender equity in cardiovascular research.
• Experience in, or a demonstrated commitment to, teaching, tutoring or student supervision at undergraduate or postgraduate level, and a willingness to contribute to teaching and higher degree research (HDR) supervision.
• A track record of significant involvement with the profession and/or industry.
