A national broadcasting organization is seeking a part-time non-executive Director to join its Board. Candidates must have substantial experience in media or business, high-level leadership skills, and a commitment to governance. This role requires clear strategic direction, understanding diverse communication needs, and knowledge of the media environment. Applications close at 9am AEDT on 17 December 2025.
Applications are invited to fill a non‑executive Director vacancy on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Board. This is a part‑time position, with a term of up to five years.

Applicants must also demonstrate a commitment to high standards of governance, almost certainly gained from extensive experience serving on boards.
The selection criteria for this position is set out in the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (Non‑executive Director—Selection Criteria) Determination 2024.
Due regard will be paid to the Board’s gender, diversity and geographic balance, in the interests of ensuring that the ABC Board reflects the diversity of the Australian community and ABC’s audience.
An independent Nomination Panel will assess applicants and provide a shortlist of at least three recommendations to the Minister for Communications. The Government will then make a recommendation to the Governor‑General, who is responsible for appointing non‑executive Directors to the ABC Board.
