Job summary

Federation Council is seeking enthusiastic Pool Attendants to support Corowa Aquatic Centre and Howlong Pool. The role focuses on safe, friendly service, basic food offerings, and facility checks to ensure clean, well-maintained swimming facilities for the community.

Candidates should be available for early mornings, late afternoons, and weekends, with on-site duties and potential progression to Pool Attendant Level 2 with Council backing. Apply by 5:00 PM on the stated closing date.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID001) qualification or the ability to acquire.
  • Current and valid NSW Working with Children Check and National Criminal Check.
  • Safe Food Handling Certificate or the ability to acquire.
  • Proficient customer service skills including the ability to respond to enquiries, build rapport, manage complaints, and resolve conflict.
  • Previous experience with point of sales and cash handling and/or basic food service.
  • Previous experience cleaning and presenting facilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise work and make decisions independently.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and monitor pool facilities to identify and respond to faults and hazards.
  • Undertake facility patrols to monitor activities of patrons and enforce pool rules.
  • Provide first aid, and administer CPR as required.

Role Description

This role is primarily responsible for day-to-day operational tasks that ensure pool facilities run effectively and efficiently. In this role, you will:

  • Carry out customer service and administration duties.
  • Perform basic food preparation and service.
  • Inspect and monitor pool facilities to identify and respond to faults and hazards.
  • Undertake facility patrols to monitor activities of patrons and enforce pool rules.
  • Provide first aid, and administer CPR as required.
  • Conduct pool water sampling, pool, and facility cleaning.

Council's preferred candidates will ultimately possess a range of the following qualifications, experience, skills, and knowledge:

  • Salary commencing at $38.50 per hour including casual loading (for 19 years and over). Junior rates apply to 18 years and under. Weekend work is paid at the base rate + penalty rates.
