Job summary

The Policy & Legislative Services Advisor role in Geelong, housed within the WorkSafe Victoria portfolio, focuses on formulating legislative and policy solutions. You will collaborate with senior policy advisors to review, analyse and develop policy and strategy across occupational health and safety and workers' compensation, engaging with national forums and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Experience in developing strategic economic or public policy, preferably in a government environment.
Proven ability to deliver high-quality, rigorous policy advice within limited time constraints.
Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough research and think analytically and laterally.
Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and draft legislative guidance.

Responsibilities

Lead or support development of WorkSafe Victoria's responses to priority policy issues.
Undertake research on literature, case law, trends, and international best practices.
Prepare briefing papers, policy review papers, and submissions to government and parliament.
Assist with economic analysis and policy positions for national forums.
Collaborate with legal, economic and technical policy teams to operationalise workplace laws.
