Job summary

Nordex Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced PM Operations Manager for Oceania to lead all transport, crane and turbine installation activities across wind farm projects. The role spans tendering, procurement and project execution, with a strong focus on safety, cost efficiency and stakeholder coordination.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams across Australia and New Zealand, travel as required, and drive continuous improvement in operational performance while upholding Nordex's

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related technical discipline.
• 8-10+ years in operations, construction or project management within wind energy or heavy engineering.
• Strong expertise in transport logistics, heavy lifting operations, crane management and large-scale installation projects.
• Proven experience across tender, procurement and project execution phases.
• Solid understanding of contract delivery, stakeholder management and contractor coordination.
• Strong knowledge of HSE requirements, quality standards and operational best practices.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all operational activities related to transport, crane and turbine installation across Oceania projects.
• Provide operational expertise and strategic input during tendering activities, ensuring feasible methodologies, optimized solutions and accurate cost estimates.
• Support procurement activities, including supplier evaluation, technical alignment and contract negotiations.
• Ensure safe, efficient and on-schedule execution of transport, lifting and installation operations.
• Act as the key operational interface between Project Management, Engineering, Logistics, Procurement, HSE and external contractors.
• Develop and review installation methodologies, lifting plans, transport concepts and mobilisation strategies.
• Identify, assess and mitigate operational risks while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support cost control, change management and operational optimisation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide operational guidance, coaching and training to Site Management teams to ensure alignment with global and regional standards.

Job description

As PM Operations Manager Oceania, you will play a critical leadership role in supporting the successful delivery of wind farm projects across the region. You will be responsible for overseeing all operational aspects related to transport, crane and installation activities throughout the project lifecycle, from tendering and procurement through to project execution. Working closely with internal teams, suppliers and contractors, you will drive operational excellence, risk management, cost efficiency and safety performance while contributing to the continued growth and success of Nordex in Oceania.

YOUR TASKS:

• Lead and coordinate all operational activities related to transport, crane and turbine installation across Oceania projects.

YOUR PROFILE:

• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related technical discipline.
• 8-10+ years' in operations, construction or project management within wind energy, renewables, infrastructure or heavy engineering.
• Strong expertise in transport logistics, heavy lifting operations, crane management and large-scale installation projects, preferably wind energy.
• Proven experience across tender, procurement and project execution phases.
• Solid understanding of contract delivery, stakeholder management and contractor coordination.
• Strong knowledge of HSE requirements, quality standards and operational best practices.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence multiple stakeholders.
• Highly organised, proactive and solution-oriented with strong decision-making capabilities.
• Willingness to travel extensively across Australia, New Zealand and the wider Oceania region as required.
