Job summary

Tec-NQ is seeking a Plumbing Trainer to facilitate vocational education and training for apprentices in Townsville and North Queensland. The ideal candidate may be an experienced Trainer Assessor or a construction professional transitioning to teaching.

Key responsibilities include conducting compliant training and maintaining records, while delivering practical plumbing instruction and industry currency for apprentices.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in plumbing with at least 5 years post-trade experience.
• Current Queensland Plumbing Licence.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122/TAE40116/TAE40110).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to use information technology to enrich learning.
• Queensland Blue Card to work with children or eligibility to obtain.
• Current C-Class Australian Driver's Licence.
• Desirable: Queensland Gas Work Licence.
• Desirable: experience in a Registered Training Organisation.

Job description

The role of a Plumbing Trainer is focused on providing quality trade training through the facilitation of vocational education and training to apprentices. The ideal candidate for this position could be an experienced Trainer Assessor or experienced construction professional ready to come off the tools and into the classroom.

Key responsibilities

Conduct training and assessment ensuring all regulatory requirements are met, including compliance to relevant national and industry training standards.

Ensure that training and assessment processes are being followed, files and records are maintained to company and regulatory standards.

Maintain an effective feedback system to ensure that accurate and timely information regarding training outcomes is accessible to employers and apprentice feedback is accessible to management.

Deliver vocational experience and industry currency to provide training and assessment in Plumbing.

Applicants without a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment are not discouraged from applying.

About you

Possession of a trade qualification in plumbing with a minimum of five years post trade experience working in the plumbing industry

Current Queensland Plumbing Licence

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116 or TAE40110)

Well developed verbal and written communication skills

Ability to use information technology in various formats and combinations to enrich and extend the learning opportunities of the students

Queensland 'Blue Card' to work with children or eligibility to obtain

Current C-Class Australian Drivers Licence

Demonstrated experience in the development, delivery and assessment of Certificate III in Plumbing with the ability to adopt a multi-disciplinary approach to teaching and learning (desirable)

Current Queensland Gas Work Licence (desirable)

Experience working within a Registered Training Organisation (preferred)
