Job summary

Finlay Jude Associates Limited is recruiting an experienced Plumber / Water Efficiency Technician in Ipswich. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with a company van and smartphone. You will visit commercial sites, install water-saving devices, diagnose leaks and carry out minor plumbing repairs while recording data in a dedicated app.

Strong communication and customer service are essential, as is a valid driving license. Training for Water Hygiene blue card may be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Essential plumbing qualification at Level 2 or equivalent.
• Good Maths and English ability.
• Full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out water-efficiency visits at commercial and other non-household premises.
• Assess fixtures and install water-saving devices.
• Install water-saving solutions to taps, showers and toilets.
• Diagnose and repair leaking toilets.
• Install or replace urinal controls where required.
• Carry out minor plumbing repairs.
• Measure water flow and check for leaks.
• Record meter readings and survey data using a bespoke app.
• Provide practical water-efficiency advice to customers.
• Explain findings and completed work clearly and professionally.
• Manage daily appointments and work independently.
• Deliver excellent customer service at all times.

Job description

FJR are currently recruiting for an experienced Plumber / Water Efficiency Technician to work on water efficiency projects on behalf of our client. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, with a company van, smartphone, tools and uniform provided.

• Carrying out water-efficiency visits at commercial and other non-household premises
• Assessing plumbing fixtures and fittings and installing appropriate water-saving devices
• Installing water-saving solutions to taps, showers and toilets
• Diagnosing and repairing leaking toilets
• Installing or replacing urinal controls where required
• Carrying out minor plumbing repairs
• Measuring water flow rates and checking for evidence of leaks
• Taking and recording water meter readings
• Recording accurate survey, installation and customer information using a bespoke app
• Providing customers with practical water-efficiency advice
• Clearly explaining findings and completed work to customers in a professional manner
• Managing a daily schedule of pre-arranged appointments and working independently
• Providing an excellent level of customer service at all times
• City & Guilds Level 2 / NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing or equivalent (Essential)
• Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)
• Good standard of Maths and English
• National Water Hygiene “Blue Card” advantageous; training can be provided
• Previous plumbing experience and confidence carrying out minor plumbing repairs
• Good communication skills with a professional and customer-focused approach
• Ability to work independently and manage a daily schedule
• Good attention to detail with the ability to record information accurately
• Comfortable using a smartphone or app to record job and customer information
