Plumber – Facilities Maintenance – Senior Trade Overseer

Cooma Correctional Centre

Salary : $105, pa plus Superannuation and Annual Leave Loading.

Position Type : Ongoing Permanent – Full Time

Location : Cooma Correctional Centre

About The Role

We are looking for a proactive and dedicated Senior Trade Overseer to lead and manage our Facilities Maintenance unit at Cooma Correctional Centre.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise, coach, train, instruct and work with inmates to develop their work skills.
  • Manage activities of the team and ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Be a positive role model and demonstrate personal values which support CSI and social values.
  • Provide detailed case management reporting through the Work Readiness Program.
  • Ensure that resources are managed efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide and maintain a safe working environment for staff, inmates and other stakeholders on site.
  • Participate in planning and reviewing quality and continuous improvement processes.
  • Ensure compliance is adhered to with relevant CSNSW and CSI policies and procedures.
  • Assignment to this role is subject to Criminal Records Check, Medical and Capability Assessments.
Essential Requirements
  • Plumber – Must possess trade qualifications in Plumbing and hold current NSW Fair Trading Plumbing Contractor Licence or Qualified Supervisor Certificate.
  • Certification in TMV and Backflow desirable but not essential.
  • Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or capacity to complete within specified timeframes.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence and preparedness to drive to locations as required.
  • Be willing to participate in an on‑call rotational roster.
