Are you a qualified plumber looking for a rewarding opportunity in a dynamic, mission‑critical environment? Join the Amentum team in Alice Springs and play a key role in maintaining essential infrastructure across a unique and technically challenging program.

About the Role

As a Tradesman Plumber, you’ll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems, fixtures, and equipment related to water, gas, sewage, air, and industrial waste. You’ll work both independently and as part of a skilled maintenance team, ensuring systems are operating safely and efficiently in line with relevant codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construct, install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems (including fire and lawn sprinklers)
  • Diagnose and resolve routine and complex plumbing faults
  • Assist in maintaining underground sewer and water systems
  • Perform welding, cutting, and soldering as needed for repairs
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures
  • Maintain records and certifications in line with site and legislative requirements

You’re a hands‑on professional with great problem‑solving skills, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. You’re committed to maintaining high standards and enjoy working in a role that keeps critical operations running smoothly.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Qualified Plumber (Trade Certificate or Licence)
  • 1–2 years' plumbing experience post‑qualification
  • White Card (Construction Induction)
  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office)

Desirable (not essential):

  • CPR / First Aid Certification
  • Confined Space Entry & Working at Heights
  • Forklift and Elevated Work Platform Licence
Security & Medical Requirements

It is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security and medical clearance applicable to the role. This position requires the ability to hold and maintain one of the following:

  • Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Security Clearance (Australian Department of Defence), or
  • TS/SCI with Polygraph (U.S. Clearance) - Applicants must also meet medical clearance requirements specific to the site.
