Job summary

Linde (BOC Limited Australia) invites applications for a Plant Technician based at Bulwer Island, QLD. You will diagnose and repair plant instrumentation and electrical equipment faults, perform site operational activities including permits, logs and start-ups, and assist in commissioning and major turnaround work across QLD sites.

As a qualified electrician with instrumentation experience, you will maintain routine electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic instrumentation, ensuring safe and reliable

Qualifications

• QLD electrical licence with electrical trade qualification.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as Electrical or Instrumentation technician in heavy industry.
• Experience with electrical isolations, testing circuits and equipment.
• Available for on-call and emergency works.
• Strong focus on safety and hazard recognition.
• Desirable: Cert III/IV in Instrumentation.
• Desirable: EEHA qualification.
• Experience calibrating pressure, flow, level transmitters and valves.

What You Will Enjoy Doing

• Be a part of a collaborative team, in a fast-paced and dynamic heavy industry
• Diagnose and repair plant instrumentation and electrical equipment faults
• Site operational activities – such as issuing work permits, taking plant logs, and performing plant start-ups
• Assist in commissioning and major turnaround electrical and instrumentation work, from time to time, at any of our other QLD tonnage sites (Townsville, Columboola, Yatala).
• Organize and complete routine maintenance of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic instrumentation
• You will achieve safe, efficient, and reliable operation by meeting key performance indicators (KPI’s) defined together with the Manager whilst working effectively with the local team to coordinate activities
• Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate and install various pieces of process instrumentation including flow meters, level/temperature/pressure transmitters and all types of control valves
• Conduit & wire installation

What Makes You Great

• You possess a QLD electrical licence with supporting electrical trade qualification
• You come with a Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience as an Electrical or Instrumentation technician in a heavy industrial setting
• Experience in performing electrical isolations, testing circuits and equipment.
• Be available for on-call and emergency works independently where required
• Strong focus on safety and hazard recognition
• Highly desired:
• Have Cert III/IV in Instrumentation
• Experience with hazardous areas and EEHA qualification.
• Experience performing calibrations of pressure transmitters, flow transmitters, level transmitters and valves
