Job summary

Corangamite Shire Council in Camperdown is recruiting multiple Plant Operators to support the construction and maintenance of the Council’s road network, property, and facilities.

We are currently recruiting for 1 permanent full-time Plant Operator (Maintenance Team) and 6 fixed-term full-time Plant Operators based in Camperdown for up to six months to support our peak construction period. Duties include safe operation, maintenance, and documentation.

Qualifications

• On-the-job experience or certificates of competency for plant such as front-end loader, backhoe, bobcat, or excavator.
• Victorian Driver Licence and Construction Induction Card; National Police Check or ability to obtain.
• Sound knowledge of plant operation, safe use and maintenance per OH&S guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain plant on construction and maintenance jobs safely and efficiently.
• Maintain traffic control and safety signing as required on site.
• Perform routine checks on machines, fluids, and lubrication points.
• Complete accurate time sheets and work program documentation.

Salary: $73,465 - $76,734 per annum, inclusive of industry and maintenance allowances

About the positions

Corangamite Shire Council is looking for multiple Plant Operators to support the construction and maintenance of Council’s road network, property, and facilities.

• 1 permanent full-time Plant Operator (Maintenance Team) based in Camperdown; and
• 6 fixed-term full-time Plant Operators based in Camperdown for up to six months to support our peak construction period.

Main responsibilities

• Operating and maintaining plant in an efficient and safe manner on construction and maintenance jobs.
• Maintaining and monitoring traffic control and safety signing on the job as required.
• Undertaking routine machine checks with regard to safe legal operation, fluid levels and lubrication points.
• Maintaining accurate time sheets and work program documentation.

About you

• On-the-job experience or certificates of competency for various plant such as front-end loader, backhoe, bobcat and/or excavator.
• Victorian Driver Licence, Construction Induction Card and recent National Police Check, or ability to obtain prior to commencement.
• Sound working knowledge in the operation, safe use and maintenance of plant and equipment, with the ability to perform manual work in accordance with OH&S guidelines.
• Demonstrated commitment to our core values of teamwork, trust, and respect.
• Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver Licence endorsement and Traffic Management ticket, or a willingness to obtain prior to commencement, is highly desirable.
• Experience in civil construction, maintenance or concreting works is highly desirable.
