Job summary

Laing O’Rourke in Osborne, SA, is seeking a Planning Manager to join the AUKUS team and help deliver Australia’s largest defence infrastructure program. You will lead strategic planning and scheduling across major projects, driving milestone delivery and resource planning within a multinational, engineering-led group.

You will apply forensic planning methods to analyse delays and disruptions, support EOT/claims, and collaborate with legal and project teams to ensure documentation and contractual

Qualifications

  • Solid experience in Project Planning & Scheduling on large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong leadership skills and prior experience managing a team.
  • Knowledge of forensic planning, delays, disruptions and claims support.
  • Experience or exposure to EOT and contractual claims processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership to drive delivery of planning solutions aligned with best practices.
  • Identify and manage milestones, production outputs and resource needs for proactive delivery.
  • Lead forensic planning analyses to support delays, disruptions and acceleration studies.
  • Provide input and reports to substantiate claims with thorough documentation.
  • Collaborate with legal and project teams to prepare and resolve EOT and other claims

Laing O’Rourke, with joint venture partner Amentum Australia, will playa central rolein supportingAustralianNaval Infrastructure (ANI)to develop and deliver theNuclear-PoweredSubmarineConstructionYard(NPSCY)project at Osborne, South Australia. We will provide program and construction management services of nuclear related civil infrastructure,site‑widenuclear licensee developmentexpertise, and nuclear safety leadership.


We are currently seeking a Planning Manager to join our AUKUS team.


Key Responsibilities


  • Provide strategic leadership to drive the delivery of innovative, effective, and efficient planning solutions that align with industry best practices.

  • Ensure the identification and management of critical project milestones, production outputs, and resource requirements to support proactive project management and successful delivery.

  • Lead forensic planning efforts by conducting detailed analyses of project delays, disruptions, and acceleration to support claims management.

  • Provide expert input and reports to substantiate claims, ensuring thorough documentation and alignment with contractual obligations.

  • Collaborate with legal and project teams to prepare, analyze, and resolve extension of time (EOT) claims and other contractual claims


About You


  • Solid experience in Project Planning & Scheduling on large-scale construction projects.

  • Existing knowledge of construction techniques, methodologies, and processes

  • Strong leadership skills with prior exposure managing a team would be highly beneficial.

  • Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
