Job summary

GHD is seeking a Planner/Senior Planner to join the WA Environment Group. You will deliver a broad portfolio of planning projects across Western Australia for government and private clients, coordinating across teams to ensure outcomes that benefit communities.

You will hold a tertiary planning qualification, apply statutory/strategic planning skills, and lead workloads while building strong client relationships. This role offers diverse projects and growth opportunities within GHD.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or related discipline.
• Statutory and strategic planning experience.
• Strong time management and workload leadership.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of a wide range of planning projects for government and private clients across WA.
• Lead multiple workstreams and coordinate with senior leads across markets.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and manage expectations.
• Prepare development approval documentation and coordinate approvals.
• Contribute to business growth within the WA Environment group.

Job Description

We’re looking for a Planner / Senior Planner to join our WA Environment Business Group.

As a key member of the WA Environment group you will be responsible for the delivery of a wide range of projects for our vast network of government and private clients. You will play an integral role in delivering projects across Western Australia, supporting business growth and contributing to the company’s vision of creating lasting community benefit.

Working with an energetic and high performing small team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Growing portfolio of metropolitan and regional council precinct and centre planning, structure planning and local planning scheme work.
• Delivering some of WA’s largest multi-disciplinary projects in collaboration with key leads across all five key markets in GHD; energy & resources, environment, property & building, transport and water.
• Industry leading work in the future energy space, playing a key role in the State’s energy transition to renewables projects including wind, solar, hydrogen, biofuels and more.
• Providing a range of services including land use and development capability advice, coordination of technical disciplines, managing of project scope and costings through GHD’s project management systems, preparation of development approval documentation and, approval process and coordination.
• Developing client relationships by building trust, providing quality advice and managing expectations.

What you will bring to the team

• Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or related discipline.
• Demonstrated statutory and strategic planning experience
• The ability to lead own workload and time
• Competence in the Microsoft Office suite (preferred)
• Skills in qualitative analysis
• Project management skills
• Report writing and interpersonal skills
• Experience in both Government and Consultancy highly valued.
• Stronge interpersonal and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain respectful relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
