Job summary

Feather and Bone Limited in Marrickville, NSW is seeking an experienced packer and picker to pack and fulfil online orders. You will handle meat, poultry, eggs, and related products, working closely with our butchers and retail team in a production setting.

The role is casual, based at our Marrickville facility, with 3–5 days per week, typically 6.30 am–3.30 pm. Food safety certification must be obtained within 30 days. A NSW C Class Licence is desirable and a 25% staff discount is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience picking and packing food products (meat preferred).
• Minimum 1 year of picking and packing experience.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a small team.
• Good computer literacy (Excel and Revel POS or equivalent).
• Able to lift 15 kg boxes and work in a cool environment.

Responsibilities

• Portioning, packing and labelling fresh meat and cured goods.
• Slicing and packing cured goods.
• Fulfilling daily retail orders for dispatch and collection with clear labelling.
• Advise Production Supervisor when consumables need reordering.
• Stock retail shops and maintain stock levels in Revel POS.
• Assist in daily setup and clean down of the production area.
• Work efficiently, tidy and hygienic per Food Safety standards.

We're looking for an experienced packer and picker to help pack and fulfil our orders. You'll be handlingall types ofmeatand poultry, as well as eggsand a wide range of of other food products.Aworking knowledge of safe food handling practices would be an advantage. You'll work closely with our butchers, packers and retail team.

Feather and Bone is an independently-owned retail butchery and food business with a shop and production facility in Marrickville, Sydney, along with a second retail store in Waverley.

We source our produce from regeneratively-managed farms, where all animals are raised outside on pasture and treated humanely. We are a 'for purpose' business with a clear vision that drives every choice we make. We're a small business with a big ambition.

This role is responsible for packing our online retail orders in a timely and accurate manner for delivery to our customers. You'll be an integral part of our Production Team, working closely with our Butchers, Pickers, and retail team.

Hours

This a casual role and is based at our Marrickville production facility.

We anticipate 3-5 working days per week, with the working days being between Monday to Friday, 6.30 am - 3.30 pm.

Key activities

Portioning, packing and labelling fresh meat and cured goods.

Slicing and packing cured goods.

Assisting to fulfil daily retail orders for dispatch and collection, ensuring all boxes are clearly labelled.

Advising Production Supervisor when consumables need reordering.

Helping stock our retail shops and assisting to maintain stock levels in Revel POS.

Assist in daily set up and clean down of the production area.

Work in an efficient, tidy and hygienic way in accordance with Food Safety standards.

What you need to be successful in this role

Experience picking and packing food products (particularly meat) is preferred.

Minimum 1 year of picking and packing experience required.

Good work ethic, efficient worker and accurate with a good eye for detail.

Ability to read orders and follow instructions.

Good communication skills and the ability to work in a small team.

Good computer literacy and skills (Excel and Revel POS or equivalent)

Ability to work in a cool environment and be on your feet for extended periods.

Be active and able to lift 15 kg boxes.

A current NSW C Class Drivers Licence is highly desirable.
