Job summary

Monash University invites applications for a PhD Scholarship Opportunity in Scalable Artificial Intelligence Decoding for Quantum Error Correction at the Clayton campus, Melbourne. The scholarship provides a stipend of about AUD 41,100 per year for up to 3.5 years plus an additional funding package and travel grant.

The successful candidate will develop AI-based decoding approaches to fix quantum errors at microsecond timescales, work within the Scalable Quantum Systems Lab under Prof.

Qualifications

• Bachelor honours or Master with a research thesis or project
• English language proficiency as per university requirements
• Not previously completed a PhD
• Ability to commence in offer year

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable AI-based decoding methods for quantum error correction
• Graduate with deep learning models (e.g., transformers)
• Collaborate with researchers and PhD students across IT faculty
