Job summary

The University of Adelaide is seeking an experienced technical professional to support pharmaceutical science, pharmacy and chemistry teaching in specialist laboratories. The role is based in the Adelaide CBD Campus and involves overseeing laboratory environments, ensuring safety, and delivering practical activities for students.

You will work with academic staff to develop and quality‑check experiments, troubleshoot equipment issues and contribute to new teaching methods.

Qualifications

• Degree in pharmaceutical science, pharmacy, chemistry or related field with relevant experience or equivalent
• Experience in a teaching, research or industry laboratory environment and ability to manage laboratory activities independently
• Experience preparing, testing and quality‑checking laboratory materials and activities
• Strong knowledge of laboratory health and safety requirements and compliance documentation

Responsibilities

• Oversee specialist laboratory environments and ensure practical classes are safe and ready for delivery
• Develop and quality‑check practical activities in collaboration with academic staff
• Troubleshoot technical issues and support introduction of new experiments and teaching methods
• Support delivery of laboratory-based teaching across multiple buildings and schedules
