Job summary

NDT Tech Ops is seeking an experienced NDT Technician in Perth, Western Australia, to perform inspections at client facilities and project sites across metropolitan and regional WA.

You will conduct MPI/MT, PT, VT, UT and PAUT inspections, verify welding quality to WPS and drawings, and prepare inspection reports, while promoting safety and high-quality workmanship on diverse industrial assets.

Qualifications

• Valid Level 2 NDT certifications (AINDT/PCN/ISO 9712) in one or more methods.
• Competence in MPI/MT, PT, VT, UT and/or PAUT inspections.
• Minimum two years’ practical NDT experience in welding/fabrication inspection or industrial QA.
• Experience inspecting welded structures and industrial equipment.
• Ability to interpret drawings, welding symbols, specs and inspection docs.
• Strong report-writing and documentation skills.
• Commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct NDT and inspection activities on welded structures and industrial assets.
• Perform MPI/MT, PT, VT, UT and PAUT where qualified and certified.
• Inspect joints, structural steel, piping, pressure equipment and fabricated components for defects.
• Carry out visual, dimensional, fit-up, in-process and final inspections during manufacturing and refurbishment.
• Verify welding quality against WPS, drawings and specs.
• Interpret UT and PAUT results per procedures and client requirements.
• Coordinate and witness NDT activities by others when required.
• Conduct coating inspections, including DFT measurements and environmental monitoring.
• Maintain NDT instruments and inspection equipment with routine calibration checks.
• Prepare inspection reports, NCRs and other quality documentation.
• Follow ITPs and project-specific procedures; review material certificates and lab reports.
• Liaise with clients, fabrication personnel, supervisors and project engineers.
