Job summary

Technical Resources is seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical/Piping Designer to join the Perth-based engineering consultancy. You will lead design and drafting activities from concept to construction-ready deliverables and mentor designers within a multidisciplinary team.

The role involves coordinating with process, electrical, structural, and project engineering teams on mining and heavy industrial projects, with a focus on quality, constructability and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Certificate, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Engineering Design or related discipline is desirable
• Proven experience delivering mining, mineral processing or heavy industrial projects
• Previous experience leading design teams and coordinating multidisciplinary interfaces
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a project environment
• Australian work rights
• Software experience

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage mechanical and piping design activities across the project
• Develop and review plant layouts, piping arrangements and equipment models
• Coordinate with process, electrical, structural and project engineering teams
• Review drawings, 3D models and design deliverables to ensure quality and constructability
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to designers and drafting personnel
• Support engineering teams through all project phases from concept design to detailed delivery
