Job summary

A dedicated support organization in Toowoomba is seeking Support Workers to assist clients with spinal cord injuries. Your role involves providing personal assistance, including grooming, hygiene, and community access. Qualifications

  • Current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
  • NDIS Workers Screening and Blue Cards (or willing to obtain).
  • Experience in the field and/or relevant qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with transfers in and out of bed and wheelchairs.
  • Provide grooming, bathing, and dressing assistance.
  • Conduct personal care including toileting and basic wound care.
  • Offer domestic support like meal preparation and household duties.
  • Facilitate community access by driving clients to appointments.

About the Role

As a Personal Support Worker, you'll directly assist clients with acquired spinal cord injuries in their homes.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Transfers in and out of bed and wheelchairs, using hoists as required
  • Grooming, bathing, dressing and dental hygiene
  • Personal care, including toileting, bladder and bowel management
  • Basic wound care and self medication
  • Domestic support (meal preparation, household duties and laundry)
  • Community access (driving to appointments and social activities)
About You
We Are Looking For People Who
  • Are excellent listeners and communicate authentically
  • Can work a fixed fortnightly roster (morning, afternoons, evenings and overnights available)
  • Hold a current driver’s licence and have a reliable vehicle
  • Hold, or willing to obtain, NDIS Workers Screening and Blue Cards
  • Are experienced in the field, and/or hold relevant qualifications.
