Job description

An established plaintiff personal injury law firm is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Lawyer with 3+ years’ post-admission experience to join its team in Melbourne’s south-east.

This is an opportunity to join a supportive, people-focused practice where flexibility is valued, professional development is encouraged, and the work makes a meaningful difference to clients’ lives.

You’ll work across a broad range of plaintiff personal injury matters, primarily involving Transport Accident Commission (TAC) claims, alongside WorkCover, common law, public liability and abuse law matters.

Strong plaintiff-side litigation experience is preferred, although lawyers with a defendant insurance background who are looking to transition to plaintiff personal injury will also be considered.

The Team

You’ll join an established personal injury practice with a collaborative team comprising experienced practitioners, senior lawyers and junior solicitors. Experienced colleagues are readily available to provide guidance, discuss complex matters and share their knowledge, creating an environment where you can continue to learn and develop your practice.

The firm is committed to helping clients from diverse backgrounds navigate challenging circumstances, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, client care and supporting its people.

What’s on Offer?
  • Genuine flexibility and work-life balance: A supportive culture that accommodates family and personal commitments.
  • Hybrid working: Generally three days in the office and up to two days working from home per week for full-time employees, subject to agreed arrangements.
  • A realistic approach to workloads: No rigid billable-hour targets currently in place, with a focus on manageable file loads, realistic matter budgets and accurate time recording.
  • Mentoring and support: Access to experienced practitioners who are invested in your professional development.
  • Career development: Opportunities to build expertise across a broad plaintiff personal injury practice, including the option to develop a specialisation in abuse law.
  • A relaxed office environment: A friendly, informal workplace where collaboration is encouraged.
