The Opportunity

Our Personal Carer & Engagement Worker (PCEWs) or Lifestyle Assistants are highly interactive supporting our elderly residents their families and colleagues 7 days a week across AM PM and Nightshifts. This role based at Ashmore care home ( Ashmore aged care home Gold Coast) will see you working closely with the nursing and resident engagement teams when performing your resident-centric care duties in a timely and compassionate manner surrounded by highly skilled and supportive senior carers and managers. The attached position description outlines duties and accountabilities for this role - Lifestyle is what is this role is commonly called in the Aged Care sector.

About You

Ideally you have worked in the Aged Care sector for at least 1 year and the ability to think on your feet communicate effectively build rapport and maintain professional relationships with residents and co-workers addition you will also

  • Current First Aid and CPR certification is essential.
  • Understanding of person-centred care principles and their application in lifestyle programs with basic knowledge of the emotional social and physical needs of older adults.
  • Qualifications across Certificate III Individual Support or Leisure and Lifestyle is applicable for this role is desirable.
  • Hold the NDIS Workers Screening Clearance as this is essential to work in the Aged Care sector (or willingness to obtain).
  • Excellent safety awareness to avoid our residents tripping falling or hurting themselves - you need to be their extra eyes and ears!
  • Very positive teamwork attitude a trusted co-worker excellent time management (we are a shift driven workplace including handovers) and always follow strict safety procedures to maintain a high standard of workplace safety.
  • A passion for choosing a c areer where you can make a difference and willingness to help our company deliver quality of care services every day!
  • Display a positive fun and confident personality to help our residents (who sometime can be very shy) to get involved in lifestyle and group activities.
