Job summary

Right at Home is seeking dedicated Personal Care Workers in Newcastle, NSW to deliver high-quality, person-centred in-home care. You will support independence and wellbeing in clients' homes, guided by our mission to improve quality of life.

The role offers flexible shifts, ongoing training, and a supportive team. Candidates should have Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent, First Aid/CPR, police check, and a valid driver’s license to serve local communities.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support or equivalent (required)
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Current National Police Check (or willing to obtain)
• Valid Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team
• A genuine passion for caring and helping others

Responsibilities

• Deliver personal care including showering, toileting, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
• Assist with light domestic duties such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
• Support clients with medication reminders and general health monitoring
• Escort clients to appointments, shopping, and community activities as required
• Report changes in client condition to care coordinators or registered nurses
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold privacy and confidentiality standards
• Follow care plans and ensure safe manual handling practices at all times
