Job summary

St Vincent's Care Corinda is seeking a Personal Care Assistant to join our Living Support Partners team. You will provide direct care and support residents with daily living activities in a compassionate, professional environment at our Corinda facility.

We value heart, kindness and reliability. The role supports residents’ routines, rights and wellbeing with an emphasis on safety and respect within our Catholic not-for-profit health and aged care network.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support/Aged Care or equivalent is essential.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are required.
• Experience with resident care software like AutumnCare is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and assistance with activities of daily living.
• Support residents with daily routines and choices to promote wellbeing and dignity.
• Follow care plans and document care and observations.
• Maintain accurate records and report changes to supervising staff.

As one of our Living Support Partners (Personal Care Assistant) you will be part of an experienced, engaged and dedicated team that is committed to creating a welcoming, professional and caring environment for the residents of St Vincent's Care Corinda. Living Support Partners provide direct care and assistance to resident with all activities of daily living. They partner with residents to support their daily routine, lifestyle and choices and ensure they feel safe, valued, respected and engaged. This position is to work as an effective household member and is supervised, providing care for residents in a specific household. They are responsible for assisting and supporting their wellbeing through professional, caring and efficient execution of required duties.
All positions contribute to the provision of quality and sustainable health services within the ethos of the philosophy, mission, values and ethics of St Vincent's Health Australia.

Things that work for us:

• Certificate III in Individual Support/Aged Care or similar qualifications essential
• Morning (6:30 - 14:30) and Afternoon (14:30 - 22:30) shifts on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
• 6 months+ experience in a similar role with residential aged care experience (dementia experience) highly regarded
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Experience with AutumnCare (or similar software) with ability to maintain excellent records
• Understanding of Aged Care, resident rights/responsibilities with ability to follow the care plan
• Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC)
• NDIS Worker Screening Check may be a requirement of this role.
