Job summary

Comet Bay College is seeking a dedicated full-time cleaner for a permanent role commencing Term 4, 2026. The successful applicant will perform internal and external cleaning across classrooms and facilities, ensuring high standards of hygiene and safety.

You will work under the Manager Corporate Services, follow department cleaning guidelines, and participate in monthly inspections and safety trainings. Equity, diversity and compliance with required clearances are expected.

Responsibilities

• Carry out internal cleaning duties: day-to-day cleaning, sanitising, stocking and maintenance of toilet facilities.
• Maintain carpets and hard floor surfaces, furniture and fittings; perform window cleaning, dusting and rubbish removal.
• Clean verandas and covered areas; remove rubbish; wash drinking troughs and cobwebs.
• Vacation cleaning duties: strip and seal vinyl floors, shampoo carpets, pressure clean gym floors.
• Open and lock the school, set the security alarm; liaise with the Manager Corporate Services on cleaning matters.
• Conduct monthly cleaning inspections and report issues in the Communications Book.
• Manage hazardous substances in accordance with safety legislation and keep records.
• Ensure facilities meet Department and occupational safety and health standards.
