Job summary

Queensland Rail is hiring at the Banyo Plant and Mechanised Maintenance Depot for a permanent Plant Operator role across the South East Queensland rail network, with occasional regional travel. The role includes reactive maintenance support, capital renewal projects, and a mix of duties such as operating earthmoving plant, driving heavy vehicles, labouring, and safety spotting.

Successful candidates will need a Class C drivers licence and ideally a Certificate III in Plant Operation or related

Qualifications

• Class C Drivers Licence is required.
• Certificate III in Plant Operations is required.
• Experience with Civil construction or pipe laying is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate earthmoving plant and on-track vehicles (where ticketed).
• Drive heavy vehicles as needed.
• Assist with labouring and safety spotting duties.
• Respond to drainage and maintenance issues as required.
• Support weekend ballast renewal and infrastructure projects.
