Job summary

City of Perth is seeking an experienced operational leader to supervise our night‑shift sanitation and street cleaning team. This hands‑on leadership role involves coordinating people, resources and operations to ensure streets, public spaces and waste services are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.

You will oversee a dedicated team of employees and contractors, respond to operational priorities, manage resources, and ensure the City is ready for another day before most

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading frontline operational teams in waste, cleaning or a similar environment.
• Strong leadership, communication and people-management skills with the ability to motivate others.
• Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety, operational planning and resource management.
• Ability to build positive relationships with employees, contractors and stakeholders while delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the City’s night-shift waste, litter collection and street cleaning operations.
• Coordinate staff, contractors, plant and resources to deliver safe, efficient and high‑quality services.
• Manage operational scheduling, emergency responses, reporting and day‑to‑day service delivery.
• Recruit, develop and support employees while promoting a positive, safety‑focused team culture.
