Job summary

Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our Perioperative Department within the Day Surgery Unit. Flexible employment options include Permanent Part-Time 24 hours per week and Full-Time 38 hours per week.

In this role you will provide perioperative patient care, support clinical teams and assist with post‑anaesthesia management in a modern theatre complex serving General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, Endoscopy and Gynaecology.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA nursing registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions).
• Significant perioperative or relevant area experience.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, coordination, and time management.
• Basic computer skills and experience with health information systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential support to patients and Clinical Nurses in perioperative care.
• Aim for optimal patient outcomes and advocate for patients.
• Demonstrate clinical expertise during perioperative journey.
• Manage post-anaesthesia and postoperative complications.
• Collaborate with nursing team to deliver exceptional care.
