Job description

We’re Alignr — a modern recruitment partner helping ambitious businesses hire smarter and scale faster. This time, we’re partnering with a leading agribusiness entering a new chapter of growth. After a period of change in the HR team, they’re looking for a People & Culture Manager who can stabilise, support, and set HR on the right trajectory.

This role is all about building engagement from the ground floor up — partnering with leaders, embedding processes, and setting a path for HR to make a long‑term impact.

Are you looking for…
  • A role where you can make an impact but also bring strategy to life?
  • Step up as the P&C leader of the business?
  • The chance to build policy, processes, and people capability?
  • To report directly to a people-centric CEO?
  • Real engagement work — recognition, communication, capability and career pathways?
  • A business investing in people, safety, and culture (winners of major regional business awards)?
What’s in it for you?
  • Permanent role
  • Salary up to $120,000 Base + Super
  • Onsite Office Culture
  • Part of the Leadership Team and direct access to ELT
  • Freedom to build!
  • Report directly to a people-focused CEO
  • Adelaide CBD Location - some regional travel (company car provided as required)
  • Build & grow the impact of HR!
  • Awesome career path to become Head of HR!
  • Join a company with a clear and transparent 3-year plan
  • Be the visible HR presence that leaders and employees can trust
  • 1 direct report
Your next company & team

This business has made significant investments in people, safety, and capability. The HR team is growing and evolving:

  • 180 People (roughly 100 covered by EBA)
  • The CEO & exec team is committed to a clear strategy and raising HR’s influence across the business
  • The culture? People-first, practical, and supportive, but still building structure and processes.
What You’ll Do
  • Partner with leaders across multiple sites (focus on Bordertown)
  • Build HR processes: policies, contracts, onboarding, wage parity reviews
  • Lead engagement activities: recognition, communication, career pathing
  • Guide and mentor the HR Officer
  • Support ER/IR, performance, and BAU HR activities
  • Drive capability-building projects across leaders and employees
  • Balance BAU (contracts, compliance) with strategy (culture, people capability)
You’ll Thrive Here If You…
  • Love hands‑on HR but can also bring strategy to life
  • You’re a builder - can fly the plane while you build it
  • Can build trust quickly on the ground floor with leaders and employees
  • Are proactive, honest & practical
  • Adapt well to foundational environments where structure is still forming
  • Are patient but persistent, able to push for outcomes while balancing relationships
This Role Isn’t For You If…
  • You’re looking for an already‑built HR function to plod along and maintain
  • You prefer compliance‑only HR without engagement or strategy
  • You don’t want to spend time on‑site across the sites
  • You struggle with ambiguity
Must‑Haves
  • Minimum 5 years of HR generalist experience
  • Confident with BAU HR (contracts, onboarding, policies) and ER/IR
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and engagement at all levels
  • Comfortable working onsite across regional and metro sites
  • Resilient and proactive — not waiting to be told what to do
Nice‑to‑Haves
  • Experience or exposure in unionised / EBA‑covered environments
  • Background in agribusiness, food processing, or manufacturing
  • Experience in regional or multi‑site environments
