Job description
This isn’t HR. This is People & Culture on full volume!

We’re looking for a seasoned People & Culture professional to own the employee experience end-to-end: recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, staff communications, and culture initiatives. You’ll ensure new starters feel welcome, keep people data accurate and compliant, and act as the glue that keeps the team firing on all cylinders.

If leading the employee experience, resolving workplace challenges, and creating a high-performing, inclusive culture excites you, strap in. This is your opportunity to make a lasting impact and keep Novatech’s culture strong and vibrant.

Ask yourself: If this sounds like you and what you see above excites you, keep reading.

Who Are We?

We’re Novatech Creative Event Technology. If it’s loud, bright, brilliant, and unforgettable in South Australia (and increasingly across Australia and beyond), chances are we’re behind it.

Think:

AFL Gather Round? That was us.

Rufus Du Sol, Dom Dolla, Cold Chisel? All of us.

We’re not just a leading AV company, we’re a team of 80+ passionate professionals delivering world-class event experiences across audio, lighting, vision, and rigging. Every project is different. Every deadline is real. And everyone plays a key role in making it happen.

Our purpose? Master the Experience. No excuses. No exceptions.

What’s the Role?

An office-based role with room to grow, tackle exciting challenges, and make a real impact on the heartbeat of Novatech. Reporting to the Director of Operations, People & Performance, you’ll be at the centre of keeping our people thriving, managing everything all while building a culture that’s inclusive, bold, and relentlessly excellent.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead the People & Culture Department’s administrative functions across the full employee lifecycle, maintaining accurate, compliant, and up-to-date records.

Drive recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes, including consulting with hiring managers, creating job materials, conducting interviews, preparing contracts, and welcoming new starters.

Update People & Culture documents, policies, and procedures as required to keep everything current, compliant, and fit for purpose.

Provide advice and guidance to other departments on all P&C matters, including Employee Relations under the EBA and FWA, ensuring fair, efficient, and compliant resolution of workplace issues.

Manage Workcover and Return to Work matters, liaising with external workplace relations advisors to ensure compliance and smooth resolution in the workplace.

Coordinate all staff communications with clarity, ensuring everyone is informed, connected, and engaged on organisational changes.

Organise meetings, preparing agendas, and taking accurate minutes to ensure nothing slips through the cracks.

What We Are After?

Guided by our ELITE values: Excellence, Leadership, Innovation, Teamwork, and Experience, we thrive in a dynamic, ever-changing work environment. Ideal for a versatile People & Culture Advisor who can juggle many hats, thrive on variety, and genuinely loves helping people succeed.

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Hands‑on experience in HR, People & Culture, or related roles, with a solid understanding of recruitment, onboarding, employee lifecycle administration, and the ability to provide advice on People & Culture matters.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace legislation, EBAs, and Awards with the ability to navigate sensitive matters professionally and confidently.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and stakeholders, because wearing many hats is part of the game.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of building relationships, influencing outcomes, and keeping everyone in the loop.
  • A proactive mindset, eager to suggest improvements, refine processes, and contribute to building an inclusive and positive workplace culture.
  • A collaborative spirit with a sense of humour, because work should be fun, even when it’s serious business.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, maintaining accuracy and a methodical approach to your work.
