Job description

People and Culture Support Manager (Hybrid)
Myrtleford, Bright or Mt Beauty locations
Ongoing / Full Time

Alpine Health is looking for an experienced and approachable People and Culture Manager to lead our People and Culture team.

This is a broad, hands on role where you will provide practical advice and support to managers and employees across Alpine Health, while leading a small team and remaining actively involved in the day-to-day work of the function.

The role covers a varied range of responsibilities including employee and industrial relations, recruitment and retention, performance management, workforce planning, organisational change, rostering and workforce systems.

We are looking for someone with strong generalist HR experience who can provide practical and considered advice, build good working relationships and support managers to work through sometimes complex workforce matters. Sound knowledge and experience in employee and industrial relations, enterprise agreements and employment conditions will be important.

Experience in health, aged care, the public sector or another complex industrial environment would be an advantage, but is not essential.

Your main duties will consist of:

Manage the day-to-day delivery of the People and Culture function, including providing leadership, support and direction to the People and Culture team.

Provide timely and practical People and Culture advice and support to managers and employees across the organisation, including in relation to employment conditions, performance, conduct, workplace concerns and other employee matters.

Support workforce planning and workforce initiatives to ensure Alpine Health has the workforce capability and capacity required to meet operational and organisational priorities.

Manage and support employee and industrial relations matters, including the interpretation and implementation of relevant legislation, enterprise agreements and Workplace Implementation Committee (WIC) outcomes, and consultation with employees and representatives as required.

Maintain effective People and Culture systems, policies and processes that support consistent employment practices, legislative and industrial compliance and effective workforce management.

Oversee and support recruitment, selection, onboarding, employment and retention processes, working with managers to respond to workforce needs and recruitment challenges.

Provide oversight of workforce and rostering systems and practices, supporting alignment with approved staffing arrangements, EFT, industrial requirements and operational needs.

Coordinate workforce reporting, compliance and improvement activities, including monitoring workforce trends and supporting organisational initiatives relating to employee engagement, culture, capability and wellbeing.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, Management or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

Demonstrated experience in a People and Culture/Human Resources role, including providing practical advice and support to managers and employees across a range of workforce matters.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in employee and industrial relations, including the interpretation and application of enterprise agreements, employment legislation and employment conditions.

Experience supporting the management of complex employee matters, including performance, conduct, grievances, workplace conflict and organisational change.

Demonstrated ability to manage and support a small team, balance competing priorities and contribute to effective workforce practices and improvement.

Well-developed communication, consultation and interpersonal skills, with sound judgement and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters.
